Sierra Leone (INS)—SERVICE—Since the Ebola crisis struck Sierra Leone from 2014 to 2016, thousands of children have become Ebola orphans. New Creation Ministries, Intercede International’s partner mission in that country, wants to help out as many of these children as they can by building a Children’s Home for them. The 40 orphaned children under their care have been passed from family to family while waiting for their permanent home.
Over the last three years, thanks to our generous Canadian donors, Intercede has now successfully raised $77,000 which includes the $40,000 just raised in response to the $20,000 Matching Gift Challenge from 2 donors to pay for the property and finish building the boys’ and girls’ dormitories of the children’s home. The funds have all been disbursed now and we hope to have photos of the dormitories’ completion in just a few months.
Now all we need is the final $25,000 to help us build the Kitchen, the Children’s Recreational Hall, and an Office. We would love to be able to raise these funds by the 2019 Year End.
The completion of the Ebola Orphans Children’s Centre is so vital to the psychological, social and spiritual well-being of children whose only hope is now entirely in God and His loving people who care. Pastor Mitford Macauley, Director of NCM, recently wrote us these words: “Our prayers continue to God for increased financial provisions for this project to become a reality in the near future—and may God bless you all for not forgetting our orphans.”
Thank you for your timely prayers and generous gifts—which will help to transform the lives of these
